When Advantage Arrest® Silver Diamine Fluoride 38% was introduced into the United States in 2015, several improvements in care were achieved. From prevention of sensitivity on exposed root surfaces to Silver Modified Atraumatic Restorative Therapy (or SMART) treatments, Advantage Arrest has advanced the care provided to patients.
Anterior aesthetics are also a concern when SDF discolors decay and demineralization so we are pleased to introduce SMART Advantage™ Glass Ionomer Restorative. This is the first glass ionomer designed specifically to mask SDF treated and discolored surfaces. SMART Advantage is a self-cure, traditional fluoride-releasing glass ionomer.
Use Advantage SMART stand-alone for posterior needs. For more tooth-like restorations, Advantage SMART can be used in a sandwich technique with either a more translucent glass ionomer or composite for ultimate aesthetics. Available in A1, A2 and mixed shade kits, SMART Advantage Glass Ionomer will be the go-to choice to cover SDF darkened sites.
